Happy Birthdays

Just wanted to wish my Grandma Jeanne a Happy Birthday!  She will love that I put this "Glamour Shot" of her on here but I just couldn't resist.  It's a classic! 

A Happy Birthday to Faith too!  She turned 3 today and we celebrated early this evening with bowling, California Pizza Kitchen and Sprinkles cupcakes!  Anyone in AZ needs to be really excited that a "Sprinkles" opens there this month!  Watch out... your wallets will be thinner and your bodies possibly wider.  I know from experience... they are addicting and my weakness!

Bryan has been telling me to CTR lately.  He thinks it is SO funny and this is what he means:

He says I have too much stuff everywhere and wants me to do some spring cleaning!  So, a few nights ago I cleaned out what I call my "Junk Drawer" which is really a big Nordstrom bag that I stash things in.  This is usually because it does not have a home OR I am doing a quick clean up job.  I must say that I found some gems in sorting through it.  Just look:

Meet our new feathered friends...

Behind our house there is a little lake with a lot of ducks!  Last year at about this same time, we were visited by these fun friends.

Sunday night, they came back.  This time... they must really like us because they have been here everyday since to grace us with their company.  I LOVE it because they have been entertaining the kids.  When they come around each day, Haven runs and grabs bread and then her and Berkley proceed to chase them around while feeding them.  They have certainly brought the "Spring is in the air" feel to the neighborhood!

Patrick!

This St. "Patrick's" Day I will be dedicating to my favorite Patrick...Patrick Swayze!  In my opinion, Dirty Dancing is one of the best movies of all time!  My thoughts are with his family as they recently announced he is battling pancreatic cancer.

Beach Bums

Saturday was warm enough to head down to the beach.  It was about 70 degrees and perfect.  I really can't wait to enjoy it all spring and summer.  We are all SO pasty white right now that it felt good to get a little color.  The best part for me was seeing Berkley finally get into it.  Last summer was a nightmare because she would just crawl around and eat sand.  I dreaded going there because I had to trap her in a tent with my legs so she would not get out.  Now, she can run around and put her feet in the water and I love it.  Here's to a good beach year!

Spring Fashions for '08

I was reading in my magazine what the top 10 spring fashions for this year are.  Some of them are really cute but there are a few that I am skeptical about.  For instance, I think these are very cute:

Bright Patent Bangles

Tribal Prints

Shirt dresses

However, I don't know how I feel about these two trends yet:

Gladiator sandals

High waisted jeans

I must say that I really like the idea of the high waisted jean for the modesty factor.  They seem to not allow everything to hang out.  I also like the fact that they probably would hide my post  2 baby pot belly.  However, I think they might accentuate the rear end.  What do you think?

P.S. What is up with this model's waist?  Or not waist!

Another great Girl's Night out!

This time we went to the Newport Beach Temple (thanks Patience for putting this together). It was really great. It is so easy to get distracted with everything going on in our daily lives. Nothing is better than going and realizing that those things are not so important. After the Temple, we went and got some dinner and then finalized the night with what else... dessert!

One person's trash is another's treasure!

When my friend Amanda is getting rid of clothes, I never mind her hand me downs!  She has this big, beautiful walk in closet that I just LOVE to go look in.  Her shoes are never ending and it is like you are in a museum of "the cutest shoes"!  Every once in awhile when I am over at her house, she wants to go through her clothes or shoes and get rid of things.  I leave feeling like I have just won the lottery (Hello... Dolce and Gabbana skirt & Coach shoes)!  So to my dear friend, Thank you for being so generous!  And know that I will always take your sloppy seconds!

Today we went on a field trip with Haven's preschool to Sea World.  It was PERFECT weather and felt great outside.  The kids all had a great time seeing the different animals and being with each other!  I really feel blessed to live by all these great theme parks.  We use and enjoy them so much.

A horse at SEA world?

2 lips!

Last month was all about these "two lips"!  

Now, this month it is about these "Tulips"!

Spring is definitely in the air.  Our neighbor has beautiful tulips that bloom for only about 2 weeks out of the year.  They are such gorgeous flowers!  Haven has had to go look at them everyday and tell our neighbor, "Joyce, I love your pretty tulips!" On saturday, Haven and Bryan planted a garden in the back yard (I think Joyce has inspired her :)). As we were leaving for church today our neighbor told us we should take a family picture in front of the tulips before they die this week.  Haven will be so sad to not see them until next year!  So will I!

Saw it

Bryan and I went and saw "The Other Boleyn Girl" last night and I would only recommend it because the story is based on true characters during the time of King Henry.  However, we left hating almost every character and feeling sad.  It is a tragic story.  The message is a good one that striving for POWER and money simply do not bring happiness.  It can be so destructive and that is basically what happens by the end of the movie.  I think next time I will see "Definitely, maybe".  I like to laugh and see light hearted movies most of the time.

And I LOVE this series and highly recommend it.  It is very entertaining.
