JULIAN
One of my favorite little towns is in the mountains of San Diego. The best time to go is in the fall to pick apples. We tried to go the whole month of October but with soccer games every saturday.. it didn't work out. When Bryan found out he had today off, we decided to take a day trip to our favorite spot.
We woke up to a gorgeous day! The weather was perfect and the 2 hour car ride was traffic free! I love that there are stands along the way with farm fresh eggs, avocados and more kinds of just picked fruit. There was even a Christmas Tree farm we spotted on the way up. Our intentions were to get one on our way down the hill to decorate on friday. When we got there at 3:30... they had already closed. To Home Depot we go I guess!
In Julian we had a nice lunch (with a slice of my favorite pumpkin apple pie for dessert), did some window browsing and took a horse drawn carriage ride where we saw wild Turkey, Horses and sheep. It was SO beautiful and quaint. Exactly how I imagined it to be.
On the way home we stopped and got some hot chocolate and apple cider. I LOVE this time of year so much and LOVE spending quality time with my little family even more.
