Meet our new feathered friends...

Behind our house there is a little lake with a lot of ducks!  Last year at about this same time, we were visited by these fun friends.
Sunday night, they came back.  This time... they must really like us because they have been here everyday since to grace us with their company.  I LOVE it because they have been entertaining the kids.  When they come around each day, Haven runs and grabs bread and then her and Berkley proceed to chase them around while feeding them.  They have certainly brought the "Spring is in the air" feel to the neighborhood!

How fun to have your own ducks to chase. They must not mind being chased either, they did come back, right?! It sure does feel like Spring, I'm lovin' it!

how fun is that. they come sometimes when we have irrigation....I think they know they're safe in there-since we've told the kids how many bugs and stuff are in irrigation water. lol

It's a good thing it is the the ducks and not the geese. They can be aggressive and a little intimidating. They had me inching backwards. How cute, now you will have to check your yard for a nest!

You should feed them fresh leafy veggies rather than bread. Bread is really not that great for them. But ducks are great. We have an old shed that I turned into a duck house for ducklings every spring in MT.

When we had our swimming pool we had two ducks that visited to frolic (you know what I mean) in our pool. It was as regular as the swallows returning to SJC. I felt sad when we filled in the pool because our love birds had to find a new mating spot.
